staffmagnet's startup company client has asked us to help them find a lead web developer who has a background that includes working with consumer facing web applications. The role is both very entrepreneurial and programming language agnostic, but we excpet that the person who is hired with have a solid background in either Ruby on Rails, Python, Java or PHP in addition to solid JavaScript, AJAX, CSS and XHTML experience (3-5 years).
The ideal candidate is someone who has been an independent/freelance web developer and/or someone who has spent at least a number of years working for an interactive agency producing client work. The reason why we believe this is a key aspect of your experience is that you will be working in a fast paced team with smart startup veterans who are working to build a new success story out of an early stage company shell. This means that your ability to contribute to product vision, product related business strategy, and to work under pressure to meet ambitious goals and deadlines will be a big asset. While perspiration is a given with this startup, like others, you will also be well rewarded and among a team of top knotch professionals and working out of an office in an amazing location on the DC Metro's Red Line. A BS in Computer Science would be a big plus.
